Not everything you hear about spots are true; there’s lots of myths that T-Zone needs to clear up.
MYTH #1 Eating chocolate gives you spots.
Although a balanced diet is better for your skin, eating chocolate doesn’t directly cause spots. Research groups have been conducted, and scientists have no hard facts as to if chocolate does or doesn’t cause spots.
FACT #1 People all ages and face get acne.
Approximately 80% of people aged between 11 and 30 have acne breakouts at some point during their lives.
MYTH #2 Moisturisers will causes spots.
Wrong. Each day your skin needs water and hydration, and drinking your recommended 8 glasses isn’t enough. Choose a moisturiser correct for your skin type (oil, combination, dry etc.) and apply twice a day after cleansing.
FACT #2 Acne appears in teenagers.
This is because the start of hormones triggers acne. Fluctuating hormones such as testosterone cause acne to flare up.
MYTH #3 Squeezing or popping a spot will make it go away.
This is one of the worst! You can actually cause serious damage to the skin and possibly leave a mark or scarring. As well as being unhygienic, it can result in further spots developing.
FACT #3 Tea Tree Oil helps to calm spots.
